Common Questions
Which type should I choose for my project?
It depends on where the arrester will be installed. Distribution is for overhead lines and pole transformers (3–36 kV). Station is for substation equipment (35–550 kV). Transmission Line is for tower mounting with a series gap. Generator is for rotating machine protection. Not sure? Send us your system voltage and we’ll recommend.
Polymer or porcelain housing?
Polymer (silicone) — lighter, hydrophobic, explosion-safe (no shattering), better in polluted areas. Porcelain — higher mechanical strength, traditional design. Both available. We’ll advise based on your site conditions and climate.
What’s the difference between YH5W and YH10W?
Both are gapless polymer arresters with the same residual voltage and MCOV. YH5W (5 kA) = Normal Duty. YH10W (10 kA) = Heavy Duty — higher energy handling (250A 2ms vs 150A). For critical or high-lightning lines, choose YH10W.
Can you customise voltage ratings or dimensions?
Yes — OEM/ODM is welcome. Custom rated voltage, creepage distance, bracket design, packaging and branding. Small trial orders accepted. Send your spec and we’ll quote.
What’s the typical lead time?
Standard models: 2–4 weeks. Custom orders: 4–6 weeks depending on specification. Express samples available.
