Overview
The RW11-10 series porcelain drop-out fuse cutout is the standard protective device on Chinese 10kV overhead distribution lines — found on virtually every pole-mounted transformer and branch-line tap across the country. Its design is the result of decades of utility field experience, refined through millions of units in service.
The core structure: a glazed white or brown porcelain insulator body cement-bonded to hot-dip galvanized steel end-flanges, carrying a filament-wound epoxy fiberglass fuse tube with internal arc-extinguishing liner. The toggle mechanism uses a stainless-steel spring, holding the tube closed under ~2.5 kgf tension. Silver-plated copper contacts (≥2 µm plating) ensure consistent low-resistance current transfer.
Fault operation: the fuse link melts → arc forms inside the tube → arc-extinguishing liner decomposes into high-pressure gas → arc quenched at current zero → spring tension released → tube pivots and drops by gravity → visible isolation gap from ground level. This dual function (protection + visible disconnection) in a single passive device is why porcelain cutouts remain irreplaceable in distribution networks worldwide.
Best for: budget-sensitive projects · inland installations with moderate pollution · standard 10kV distribution transformer protection · projects requiring IEC 60282-2 type-test evidence. For coastal/polluted/heavy-export applications, see our Polymer HRW11 series →

Key Features
Proven Ceramic Insulator
Decades of field reliability. Glazed surface resists UV, tracking, and weathering. No polymer aging concerns.
Cement-Bonded Assembly
USA-sourced anchoring cement bonds porcelain to galvanized flanges — rapid-set, high strength, low thermal expansion.
Visible Drop-Out Indication
Fallen tube = instant fault identification from ground level. Critical in rural networks with limited SCADA monitoring.
Standard 3-Phase Kit
Supplied as 3-unit set on NEMA B bracket. Matching K/T-type fuse links 1–200 A in stock.
Hot-Stick Operable
Standard insulated operating rod opens/closes under load (with load-break attachment). 25° ± 2° downward mounting tilt for positive drop-out.
IEC 60282-2 Type Tested
Full type-test suite: breaking, impulse, dry/wet power-frequency, temperature rise, mechanical endurance. Reports for tender submission.
Applications
Distribution Transformers
Primary-side protection for 10kV pole-mounted transformers — single-phase and three-phase. The most common MV protective device in China.
Overhead Line Branches
Sectionalizing and overcurrent protection for 10kV distribution laterals and tap-off lines.
Capacitor Banks
Overcurrent and switching transient protection for pole-mounted capacitor installations in distribution networks.
Industrial MV Feeders
Protection of factory medium-voltage service entrances and equipment connections.
