The G10-06 is the large-size cover in the G10 terminal insulation series, molded for heavy-duty cable lugs, bolted terminals and bus joints in the 150–300 mm² conductor range. This is the terminal size found on main feeder cables, transformer primary connections, MV switchgear bus joints and large-capacity distribution lines — connections that carry hundreds of amps and represent a significant fault-risk point.
At these current levels, terminal heating accelerates pollution tracking and moisture-driven surface degradation. A bare large terminal in a coastal or industrial environment can develop a conductive pollution layer in months. The G10-06’s thick HTV silicone body provides robust insulation coverage that sheds contamination, prevents tracking-path formation, and eliminates the phase-to-ground clearance vulnerability at the connection point.
