Overview
The BLQ-2 is a larger-bore version of the BLQ series, designed for station-class and high-energy surge arresters with bigger body diameters — typically those rated 10 kA and above, or with higher MCOV ratings that require larger-diameter ZnO blocks. Like all Jiadian insulation covers, it’s molded from high-temperature vulcanized (HTV) silicone rubber — hydrophobic, UV-stable, anti-tracking, and flame-retardant.
If your arresters are larger than the standard distribution type (BLQ-1 fit), BLQ-2 is likely the right match. It wraps both the top (line-side) and bottom (ground-side) terminals, sealing them against moisture ingress, pollution tracking, and wildlife contact. Installation is slip-on — no heat, no adhesive — and live-line installable with hot-stick techniques.
