Overview
The SLG-3-4 is a silicone-rubber insulation cover designed specifically for line connection points, isolating links and jumper connections on MV overhead distribution lines. Unlike equipment-specific covers (BLQ for arresters, FCO for cutouts), SLG-3-4 protects the conductor-to-equipment interface — the bare metal clamp or bolted connection where a line conductor joins a piece of equipment such as an isolating link, a jumper loop, or a tap-off point.
These connection points are among the most wildlife-vulnerable locations on a distribution line: a bird landing on a bare isolating-link bolt or an animal bridging two jumper connections can cause a phase-to-ground or phase-to-phase fault. The SLG-3-4 cover sleeves the entire connection assembly, creating a continuous insulating barrier from the conductor insulation to the equipment body.
Molded from HTV silicone rubber — hydrophobic, UV-stable, anti-tracking, flame-retardant. The cover is split/slit for wrap-around installation on already-connected conductors; live-line installable with hot-stick tools. Custom dimensions to match your specific conductor size and connection type.

What is the difference between SLG-3-4 and the G10 terminal covers?
SLG-3-4 is designed for line conductor-to-equipment connections (jumpers, isolating links, tap-offs) where a cable enters and exits the cover. G10 series covers are for terminal/clamp points where the cover caps a single cable end (one entry, no exit). Tell us your connection configuration and we’ll recommend the right cover.
What conductor sizes does SLG-3-4 accommodate?
The entry/exit ports are custom-molded to your conductor outer diameter. Send us your conductor type (e.g., ACSR, AAAC, copper) and cross-section (e.g., 50 mm², 120 mm²) and we’ll dimension the ports.
Can I install this on an existing, energized connection?
Yes — the wrap-around / slit design allows installation on already-connected conductors without loosening or disconnecting. Compatible with hot-stick installation on live lines.
Why is SLG-3-4 sold as 1 PC/SET instead of 3?
Line connection covers are typically installed per connection point, not per phase set. You can order any quantity — 1, 3, 10 — as needed for your project.
Can the cover handle both straight and angled connections?
