Overview
The G10-05 is the medium-size cover in the G10 terminal insulation series, molded for cable lugs, bolted terminals and clamp connections in the 50–150 mm² conductor range. This is the most common terminal size on medium-voltage distribution equipment — transformer LV/MV bushings, feeder cable riser poles, switchgear cable compartments, and line recloser terminals.
Terminals in this size range carry significant load current and are often the hottest point on the equipment — making them particularly vulnerable to tracking from pollution and moisture condensation. The G10-05’s HTV silicone cover provides both electrical insulation and a hydrophobic weather seal that prevents conductive pollution from forming a tracking path across the terminal.
Part of the 4-size G10 family — if G10-05 is too small or large for your terminals, check G10-02 (≤50 mm²), G10-06 (150–300 mm²) or G10-07 (>300 mm²). How do I know if G10-05 is the right size vs G10-02 or G10-06?
G10-05 fits the 50–150 mm² range. Measure your cable lug width across the palm (the flat part with the bolt hole). If the palm width is roughly 25–40 mm, G10-05 is likely the right fit. Smaller → G10-02; larger → G10-06 or 07. Send a photo with dimensions and we’ll confirm.
Can G10-05 handle the heat from a loaded transformer terminal?
Yes — HTV silicone rubber has an operating range of -60°C to +200°C, well above normal terminal operating temperatures even under full load. The material is thermally stable and won’t degrade from terminal heat.

No — the cover is designed as a weather shield, not a hermetic seal. It sheds rain and snow while allowing natural ventilation to prevent condensation build-up. The hydrophobic silicone surface actively repels water.
Can G10-05 be installed on angled cable exits?
The standard mold assumes a straight cable exit from the terminal. For 90° or angled exits, send us the geometry — we can adjust the mold entry angle or recommend a custom solution.
